Wild at Heart Wildlife Refuge Centre's volunteers are selling the 2008 wall calendar which features photos and stories of a few of their wild "patients."  Calendars are $20 each or three for $50.
They are available at the Walden Animal Hospital (Lively); Central Printers, 633 Lorne St.; The Laughing Buddha, 196 Elgin St., Pet Valu, 1933 Regent St., Pet Valu, Place Val Est (Val Caron); Pet Valu, 4764 Regional Road 55 (Chelmsford); and both locations of Barrydowne Paint and Wallpaper (818 Barrydowne Rd and 2304 Long Lake Rd). Proceeds from the sale of this calendar will support the work of Wild at Heart Wildlife Refuge Centre.
The creation of the calendar has been a community effort. The photographs were taken by Wild at Heart volunteers. Central Printers returns as the calendar's printer. Graphic designer, Lisa Palfrey, donated her services to design the layout of the calendar. The calendar's concept, each animal's story, and wildlife facts were produced by Wild at Heart's volunteers. Many local businesses are supporting the effort by selling the calendars in their stores.
Wild at Heart Refuge Centre is a non-profit organization and a registered charity that provides veterinary treatment and rehabilitation to wild animals that are orphaned, sick, or injured, so that they may be returned to the wild.
