Cambrian College's Glenn Crombie Centre for disability services, in partnership with Nipissing University's Counselling and Disability Services, is hosting its annual Learning Disabilities Conference.

The two-day conference will take place on Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 at the Barrydowne campus, with separate pathways for parents, educators, and secondary school students.

The conference will provide information on planning for postsecondary education, on ways to improve and enhance the learning experience, and how to effectively support students with learning disabilities. The conference sessions will also help participants to better understand learning disabilities, to learn postsecondary "survival" tips, and to learn how to use assistive technology.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Umesh Jain, who will speak about the effects of ADHD on academic performance and Dr. Marc Wilchesky, who will speak about the keys to successful transition from secondary to postsecondary studies. Both are well known leaders in their field.

For more information or to register, contact Marlene McIntosh at 566-8101, ext. 7219.

Information about the conference is also available on Cambrian College's website at http://homepages.cambrianc.on.ca/gcc/pathways
