The 14th annual Downtown Celebrity Blueberry Pie Eating Contest will take place Thursday, July 17, at noon inside the Rainbow Centre mall.
"Blueberry Bill" Bradley will be representing Northern Life in the contest for the third time.
"The event promises to be the fastest and most exciting display of athleticism of the blueberry festival," according to a press release put out by Downtown Sudbury.
"If only this event was part of the Beijing Olympics, we could possibly have another Olympic Gold medalist hailing from Sudbury. This event is not all about having a big appetite, but also about strategy and inner strength.
"In fact, there is a rumour circulating that one of the contestants has actually been training with a Tibetan monk."
