Tourism in Greater Sudbury is receiving a pick-me-up to the tune of $100,000 in funding to help promote Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival and Laugh Out Loud Sudbury Comedy Festival.
Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci recently announced the Ontario Trillium Foundation is giving an $80,000 grant to Cinefest to enhance staff and equipment, while a $20,000 grant from Tourism Events Marketing Partnership Program will improve the marketing for Laugh Out Loud Sudbury Comedy Festival.
Bartolucci said the increase in funding should bring more festival goers from outside Sudbury and make the festivals more enjoyable for Sudbury locals.
