Six local students each won scholarships recently in the City of Greater Sudbury.  Krista Simser, Laurel Muldoon, Julie Labelle, Kimberley Rumley, and Sarah Mainville  are pictured receiving a $1,000 Team Tim Hortons Scholarship for their commitment to giving back to their community.
The Team Tim Hortons Scholarship Program, is designed to recognize store employees and their children or grandchildren who have given back to their community (through volunteer work) and would like to pursue post secondary education. The program that began in 2005 was a great success again this year, with 220 scholarships awarded across Canada and in the U.S., totaling $220,000.
"We are thrilled to present them all with a well deserved scholarship to help further their  education," says Randy Annett Tim Hortons Store Owner. "A post-secondary education paired with the desire to give back to the community is a valuable combination and we wish them much success with their future endeavours."

The Tim Hortons Scholarship Program will continue in 2007 with another $220,000 in scholarships to be granted. The application process for the 2007/2008 school year will open in February of 2007. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit www.timhortons.com for further information.
