There is nothing unusual about going to a spring wedding. Unless you are attending the Fortin and Dow wedding.

Margo Fortin and Seldon Dow, who are both in their 80s, are getting married May 20.

There is nothing unusual about going to a spring wedding.

Unless you are attending the Fortin and Dow wedding.

The two octogenarians, who are both residents at the Southwind Retirement Residence, will be reciting their vows  May 20, in front of 40 family and friends at St. Patrick's Church.

Margo Fortin says the two met innocently enough last fall.

"I just asked him for a ride to visit a friend in the hospital," Fortin muses. "Before that I hadn't even noticed him."

"Oh, I'd noticed her all right," counters Seldon Dow with a smile. "There's no explanation for it. I certainly wasn't looking for a wife. It just happened and I'm still not over it yet."

Dow was a customer service agent for Air Canada and lost his first wife in 1997.

Fortin hadn't even dated since being widowed 24 years ago.

The newlyweds will continue to live at Southwind, only now they will be sharing a unit.
