There is lots of entertainment happening at this year's CTV-Lions Children's Christmas Telethon this Saturday from 2 pm to 11 pm. Local talent from Sudbury and outlying areas include 45 acts with dancers, singers and bands with both adult and children's acts.
The telethon will be held at the Sheridan Auditorium, Sudbury Secondary School, where the audience can watch the CTV 'live link' crew accepting donations from local businesses on a television screen. Donations are accepted at the door and members of the audience can donate cash to the 'wishbowl' and have a chance to win a trip from Air Canada.
Many volunteers will be answering phones throughout the day at the CTV studio. All pledges that day will be eligible for hourly draws during the telethon for items such as Sudbury Wolves paraphernalia and an ipod.
This year's goal is $260,000. All money raised is used to purchase toys for local and Northern Ontario children.
"Enjoy the show and please give generously," said Cleo Roy, Lions Children's Christmas telethon chair.
The telethon will be aired on your local CTV station and channel 221 on Bell Express Vue.
