The end of the school year was an emotional one for the students, parents and staff at École St-Charles Borromée (St-Charles) in St. Charles.
Mariette Viau, the school's secretary for the past 36 years, hung up the phone for the last time and headed off into retirement. Former staff members joined the school community for an end-of-the-year mass to celebrate Viau's contributions to the staff, students and parents.
The school also held a rally to celebrate Viau on the last day of school. École St-Charles Borromée staff, parents and students thanked her for her "devotion, patience and compassion, as well as her love for her work and students."
Happy retirement, Mms Viau! You've earned it!
