Families of students attending Ernie Checkeris Public School are invited to the opening of a parental resource centre on Wednesday, June 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. The ribbon-cutting will take place at 5 p.m.

The centre was made possible with a Parents Reaching Out Grant from the Ministry of Education.

"The School Council and staff of Ernie Checkeris Public School are pleased to be able to provide resources on education and parenting to our school community through the parental resource centre," said Principal Lynne Kulha. "We certainly hope it will continue to grow in the years to come."

The school hopes the centre will increase co-operation and collaboration between parents and teachers, which will have a positive impact on student achievement.

Children who come to the event will enjoy activities organized by the parental involvement committee.

The school is located at 1570 Agincourt Ave. in Sudbury.
