Art, even originals is not as expensive as people think, said Jan Browning and Keith McCormick, members of the Sudbury Art Club.

Theirs and 150 other pieces of art will be on display and for sale at the annual Sudbury Art Club show at Carmichael Community Centre, 1388 Bellevue Ave. Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 am-4 pm.

"You can buy original pieces for as low as $1.50 for a Christmas or greeting card and from $100 to $200 for a painting," said Browning.

"Art is really very affordable, for one of a kind originals and you get to support local artists in the community," she said.

Keith McCormick has been painting for six years.
"I do watercolour, acrylic and line art-mostly landscapes. I will be bringing pieces with the fall colours," said McCormick.

He likes the natural environment around town for his paintings.

"I prefer Ramsey Lake because it is easy to get to, has lots of free parking, is panoramic and peaceful. I just love it and Junction Creek as well," he said.
