Former astronaut tours Science North

Former Canadian astronaut and Liberal MP for Westmount-Ville-Marie Marc Garneau toured Science North Aug. 31. Garneau is in Sudbury to attend the summer retreat of the federal Liberal caucus.

Former Canadian astronaut and Liberal MP for Westmount-Ville-Marie Marc Garneau toured Science North Aug. 31.

Garneau is in Sudbury to attend the summer retreat of the federal Liberal caucus.

Garneau, the former president of the Canadian Space Agency, has taken part in three flights aboard NASA space shuttles and logged 677 hours in space.

In 2006 he resigned from the Canadian Space Agency to pursue a career in politics.  He won his seat as MP for Westmount – Ville-Marie in the 2008 federal election.
