Businessman Richard Morin said he's had a lot of success in life, but he's also had his share of failure and challenges.
He said he wants to encourage people to keep moving forward, try new things, and work towards their goals regardless of the obstacles that might be in the way — you never know what you might achieve.
“I just want people to do the best they can with what they have,” Morin said. “They can't be better than somebody else, because that's silly. But if we can be our best every day, what more could the world ask for?”
That's the message Morin puts forward in his self-published motivational book, “You Working With You: A Roadmap to Self Mastery.”
“It's all about each individual looking inward instead of outside of themselves for solutions,” he said.
“People want a quick fix, and they just want to take care of all of their problems
by taking a pill or by avoiding. So I've got 90 short chapters dealing with self-confidence, letting go of the past, and doing the most with your time.
“There's no shortage of time in life, but there's a surplus of distractions.”
He said he wants to continue writing motivational books, perhaps publishing one a year for the next 10 years. He's also available to give motivational speeches.
Morin, who's originally from Onaping but now lives near Barrie, is the owner of Strategic Industrial Products Group and Strategic Business Services Inc. and director of business development for JMT Radiator.
He's often in Sudbury, making sales calls to local mining companies for the custom LED lighting he sells.
Morin's holding a book signing for “You Working With You: A Roadmap to Self Mastery” at Chapters in Sudbury from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 28.
