Richard Despatie prepares the cauldron to boil some syrup to pour taffy on snow at the Despatie Sugar Bush on Dominion Dr. in Hanmer. Enjoy a historical tour, taffy on snow, homemade beans, wagon rides (when the snow has melted) and demonstrations.
Maple syrup will be for sale at the gate. The sugar bush will be open Sundays, March 22, 29, April 5 and 12 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. For more information phone 969-8319.
