The Funky Mamas, an all female band, recently performed at the Northern Lights Festival Boreal and in many Sudbury libraries. Their energy-packed show is one adults and children just can't resist.

The Funky Mamas have been performing adult friendly children's entertainment across Canada since 1998.  With 12 children between them, the Funky Mamas know what children like and generously serve up a show that all ages can enjoy. Through a medley of blues, bluegrass and folk and pop infused with a bunch of fun the Mamas paint a musical picture that inspires creativity.

The Mamas include Georgia Urban on musical saw, guitar, mandolin, penny whistle, bass, percussion; Tannis Maynard-Langedijk on guitar, ukulele and percussion; Kate Vsetula on banjo and banjo-ukulele; Alicia Miecznikowski on bass, recorder and percussion (as well as CD cover artist); and Chantal vonMaydell, fiddle, bass and drums.

Their first self- titled CD released in 2003 has been a  favourite for families across Canada and beyond. Their latest release Rollin' Along (2008) continues the Mama's musical tradition of infectious music and has just won  a prestigious parents' choice award.
