You're invited to check out the Student Social Change Poster Exhibit at Gallery 6500 (located in the Steelworkers Hall) May 27 to June 27.

The exhibit's opening reception takes place May 27 from 1-4 p.m.

The Student Social Change Poster Challenge is an art project to encourage young, socially aware artists to explore a traditional medium, take on issues they care about and reach a wider audience.

Posters are both an art form and a medium of communication. Because they are cheap, eye-catching and difficult to control, poster art can be a powerful tool for social change.

A call-out for submissions was made to local high school students, and the best are being displayed at Gallery 6500.
