The art of building a spring wardrobe to get the most
versatility between each item is so important. The way your
purchases complement one other and give you maximum mileage can
only help during today's economic speed-bumps.
Shirts
We'll start by promoting the "flex-shirts" - shirts that can be
worn with a tie, but also have a little pattern or texture to
be worn on their own.
Dress pants
The next mileage-maker is a washable dress pant by Alberto that
is styled two different ways to give you a casual cut for your
sport-coats and untucked shirts or a dressy wrinkle-free style
to complement a shirt and tie combo.
Jeans
The next jean you buy this spring has to have that vertical
dressy weave to be worn with a funky sports jacket, but also
take you to your casual barbecues.
Suit jackets
Don't forget that some pinstripe or textured suit jackets can
be mixed and matched with that favorite jean as well. By the
way, if you have a grey suit tucked in the back of your closet,
this is the spring to pull it out and amortize it more.
Ties
Don't be afraid to push your favorite ties in a direction that
doesn't quite match perfectly. This brevity can often enhance
your personal style.
Footwear
To make sure you never lose "demerit points" on the road to
success, always wear appropriate footwear. Potential promotions
at the office or social first impressions shouldn't be passed
by. Some dressy footwear can now be pushed into your
smart-casual wardrobe.
So move from the collector lane to the express lane with these
helpful tips. All the best in finding your "optimal mileage"
this spring.
