You can check out JUNO-nominated double-bassist and composer Michael Herring at the Night Owl on April 18.
Herring hits the stage at 7 p.m.
“The Night Owl and Dorland Music are thrilled to announce an exhilarating night of music showcasing the skilled double-bassist and composer, Michael Herring,” the club said in a news release. “Michael provides a compelling musical journey that will mesmerize the audience.”
Based in Toronto, Herring’s musical tastes run from jazz and folk to world and pop/rock, “showcasing a remarkable proficiency in both performance and composition.”
Other Herring endeavors include the Michael Herring Quartet, a unique quartet ensemble employing two saxophones. It also includes Way North, a cross-continental collaboration featuring musicians from New York, Toronto, and Ottawa.
Herring also lends his voice to projects like The Uplifters, The Bird Brains, and Harrington. His list of collaborations includes acclaimed musicians like Joel Frahm, Ernesto Cervini, Kevin Breit, and Ken Vandermark.
