The Dairy Queen Fall Concert Series will again feature top acts throughout the fall months at St. Andrew's Place, 111 Larch Street in Sudbury.

All profits from the three-part series will be donated to the Out Of The Cold Hot Meal Program.

The meal program is sponsored by Dairy Queen and Sudbury Travelodge, organized by hundreds of volunteers, and has been running for the past nine years.

The concert series generates enough funds to feed 175 to 200 people in need each Friday night at St. Andrew's Place or the Church of the Epiphany, from the beginning of November until the end of April.

The first concert is Sunday, Sept. 28. The Marigolds are a high profile Canadian act featuring Caitlin Hanford and Gwen Swick, both of Sylvia Tyson's group Quartette; and Suzie Vinnick. Vinnick won the 2007 Maple Blues Award as Canada's Best Female Blues Vocalist.

As solo artists and with their other groups, each member of The Marigolds has performed in concerts from coast to coast, at folk festivals, on radio and television. As well, they each have solo recordings. The group is recognized for great harmonies and strong musicianship.

The second concert of the series is on Sunday, Oct. 26. Opening the show is Honeygrass, the 2007 winners of the Canadian Bluegrass Awards as the Best New Bluegrass Band.

The headliners are The Laws, a husband and wife team based in Nashville. John and Michele Law perform cross- over music that includes folk, country and bluegrass. They have toured extensively throughout the United States and Australia.

The series wraps up on Sunday, Nov. 23 with a performance by the high- energy band Western Radio. This group has folk giant Ron Nigrini at the helm along with three other Toronto musicians.

This promises to be an evening of popular hits from the sixties and seventies mixed in with the group's original tunes. This concert will have Pat Robitaille as the opening act. Robitaille is a 20-year-old folk performer from Windsor.

The Out of The Cold Concert series attracts an audience of 300 per show. All concerts are on Sunday nights at St. Andrew's Place. Showtime is 7 p.m.

This series is sold by a series pass, which costs $45. Single tickets, if available, will be sold for $20 per show. For further information visit www.affinityconcerts.com or call Bob Bale at 523-6200.
