Golf tournament to raise awareness of brain injuries

The Brain Injury Association Sudbury and District will be hosting its annual golf tournament and candle vigil on June 24 at the Timberwolf Golf Club, in honour of Brain Injury Awareness Month. The event is a best ball scramble with more than 80 golfers registered to participate

There will be a $2 barbecue lunch, sponsored by Oatley Vigmond and Pillar Homes, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will also be a candle vigil and proclamation of June as Brain Injury Awareness Month by the City of Greater Sudbury, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Brain Injury Association Sudbury and District to create public awareness of the care, education, research  and prevention of head injuries. The association's   mandate is to enhance the lives of individuals and families whose lives have been touched by the effects of an Acquired Brain Injury.

Prizes include a Hole-In-One Hot Tub, donated by Hevey Pool and Spa and more. The event will wrap up with a raffle ticket draw for a $1,200 Wilson Golf Club Set, sponsored by Weaver Simmons LLP. The tournament is sponsored by Oatley Vigmond Personal Injury Lawyers.

The Brain Injury Association is a non-profit registered charity supported by United Way Sudbury and Ontario Trillium Foundation.
