Fred Vincent, past president of War Pensioners of Canada and Noreen Davidson, third vice president Lockerby Legion, salute after a flag was raised at Tom Davies Square in honour of Legion Week.

Mayor John Rodriguez read the proclamation, making Legion Week official, from September 21 to 28.

This event celebrates the work of the Royal Canadian Legion in the community, raising awareness of one of Canada's largest service organizations.

The Royal Canadian Legion has a strong and continuing commitment to promoting Canada's contribution to world peace, the protection of Canadian sovereignty and the preservation of national unity.
