For over a decade and a half, Le Maschere Laurenziane, a student theatre troupe housed in Laurentian University's Italian Studies Program, has put together an annual stage production and this year will be no different as I Panni Sporchi Si Lavano In Famiglia (Don't Hang Your Dirty Laundry on the Clothes-line) hits the stage. Written by local Italian-Canadian playwrights Diana Iuele-Colilli and Christine Sansalone, the play originates in the late 1950s in an area of the city known for its large Italian presence; the West End.

The story revolves around the main character, Peppino Pallone, who left his native Italy and came to Canada in search of a better life. However, he and his wife, as with most other Italian immigrants of the time, hoped to instill in their kids the values and tradiitons from their native country, but soon Peppino in incensed by the fact that his daughter, Rita, would disregard his wishes and marry a "non-Italian man."From their entertaining discussions, arguments, secrets, and humourous antics, misunderstandings are revelaed.
