It's Take Your Pet to Work Week!

Help raise money for pet rescue and shelters by taking part in photo contest by Pet Sitters International

June 22 to 26 is Take your Pet to Work Week with a K9 focus on Friday which is celebrated as Take Your Dog to Work Day.

Pet Sitters International (PSI) is encouraging pet lovers and businesses to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote pet adoptions with virtual celebrations this week.

PSI is the world's largest educational association for professional pet sitters and first created Take Your Dog to Work Day in 1999 to help promote pet adoption. Each year, the association encourages employers in Canada and the U.S. to open their doors to employees' dogs for one fun summer Friday.

“Now, perhaps more than ever, employees need the joy that Take Your Dog to Work Day and Take Your Pet to Work Week bring,” PSI president Beth Stultz-Hairston said in a press release.

“While it may not be possible to have dogs or other pets at work this year, companies can still celebrate the day and boost employee morale with alternate celebrations.”

This year, PSI is hosting a photo contest on its Facebook and Instagram accounts to help raise money for animal shelters and pet-rescue groups.

From June 22 to 26, participants are encouraged to upload photos of their dogs or other pets working with them remotely and tag Take Your Dog to Work Day and Pet Sitters International on Instagram or Facebook

PSI will select one winning photo each day and donate $100 to the animal shelter or pet-rescue group of the winner’s choice.
