Jann Arden gets up close and personal

Calgary-area native Jann Arden performed at the Sudbury Arena Jan.19 as part of a tour to promote her latest album Free.

True to her relaxed, friendly stage presence, Arden took moments from her singing to present concert-goers with a slide show that featured youthful pictures of her band and candid snapshots of her family. Arden performed songs from Free — she opened with the title track and closed with All the Days.

She wowed fans with many of her classics, including Good Mother, the first verse of which she sang with a shaking, tearful Sudburian, who had asked Arden earlier if she would ever consider “singing a duet with a fan.” Arden’s tour continues through southern Ontario.
