The Texas born singer showed clips of himself starring in the 1980 made-for-TV movie The Gambler while performing the hit song.

He entertained the audience with many humorous stories about his childhood and family throughout the evening.

The second half of his show included Christmas songs like White Christmas and Away In A Manger.

The Twelve Days of Christmas was performed with the help of 11 audience members who were chosen to be on stage after Rogers tossed tambourines into the audience earlier in the show.

The evening ended with a special performance from the Sudbury Secondary School and Laurentian University choir.

The 70-year-old singer has been performing since 1956 when he formed a high school band called The Scholars. In 1968, Kenny Rogers and The First Edition recorded their first hit called I Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In).

Rogers and his fifth wife Wanda have four-year-old twin sons Justin and Jordan.

As well as a talented performer, Rogers is a respected photographer and has published several books.

He will be touring the U.S., U.K. and Ireland until June 2009. For more information about Kenny Rogers go to www.kennyrogers.com .
