Kids can learn about polar wildlife in book week events

L.E. Carmichael will share her exciting adventures to the Arctic and Antarctica and her experience studying northern wolves and arctic foxes, fascinating insights into the adaptations of polar wildlife during April 29 and 30 events at the Greater Sudbury Public Library.

If you’ve got bookworm kids at home, they can meet an award-winning author at two upcoming library events as part of Canadian Children’s Book Week.

L.E. Carmichael will share her exciting adventures to the Arctic and Antarctica and her experience studying northern wolves and arctic foxes, fascinating insights into the adaptations of polar wildlife.

Drawing on her latest book, “Polar: Wildlife at the Ends of the Earth,” participants will learn about the incredible array of life thriving in these remote regions of our planet. These events are suitable for children ages nine to 12.

Carmichael is an award-winning author of over 20 STEM books for children and young adults. Passionate about sparking curiosity and igniting imagination, her books reveal the stories behind science and encourage a love for lifelong learning. 

Wordstock Sudbury Literary Festival’s Nickel City Literacy League is partnering with Greater Sudbury Public Library and Canadian Children’s Book Week to present the free sessions.

They take place at the Main Branch Public Library, 74 Mackenzie Street on Monday, April 29 from 6-7 p.m. and the South End Public Library, 1991 Regent Street on Tuesday, April 30 from 4-5 p.m.
