Northern Music Resources recently developed a music intervention program called Kids In Conflict (KIC) in an attempt to keep young offenders from making repeat appearances in court.

Northern Music Resources recently developed a music intervention program called Kids In Conflict (KIC) in an attempt to keep young offenders from making repeat appearances in court.

The program provides the youths with free access to music equipment with the assitance of local artists  as mentors.

In 2006, approximately 1,200 individuals under the age of 18 made an appearance in Greater Sudbury's bail court, said a new release.

The first KIC CD has just been released, in collaboration with Ostara Webcasting and Production Studios, and features original tracks from Paul Dunn, Trixx, Backroads, From Far Apart and many more. Sales from the CD will be used to help raise money for KIC's music intervention program.

CD's can be purchased for $15 at several local retailers, Ostara Studios or online at www.northernmusicresource.ca .
