La Nuit sur l’étang is postponing its March 27 event “En voix d’évasion” scheduled for College Boréal, given Greater Sudbury is still under Grey Zone pandemic restrictions.

The organization said it hopes the situation will be better in May, and the event can take place with a limited audience.

La Nuit sur l’étang studied all possible scenarios in order to present the annual spring concert March 27, such as with a limited audience and with a television-style recording of the event for future broadcast.

But producers of the event had to admit that for the security of all performers, musicians, technicians, media and the public, it was wise to postpone this long time Franco-ontarian music and cultural event.

Event producers have targeted May 16 as the best date for all, including hall availability, performers, technicians, media and organizers.

“We will be producing a TV style concert on the 16th, all the while hoping we may have a limited number of people attending the concert,’’ said Pierre Paul Mongeon, la Nuit’s executive director.

For those who may have already purchased a ticket for the March 27 event, you can be reimbursed or use your ticket for the future broadcast on the internet.

Get in touch with Marcel Vaillancourt at [email protected] or [email protected] for all questions.

La Nuit sur l’étang is proud of your unwavering support in this traumatic era of a pandemic, said the press release.
