Macbeth is back. After a two-year hiatus, the Drama Department at Lasalle Secondary School looks forward to presenting "Macbeth: An Unworthy King" by A.P. McRae and E. Savati.
Performances will be held on June 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 pm at the Lasalle Secondary School Black Box Theatre. Lasalle Secondary School is located at 1545 Kennedy St. in Sudbury.

“We are excited to bring live theatre to our audience of students, parents/guardians and members of the community,” said Lasalle Secondary School Principal Maureen McNamara, in a press release.
“We invite everyone to join us for a fun-filled evening that will showcase our talented drama students under the direction of teacher Ashley Paige Fraser.”
An imaginative and student accessible retelling of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, "Macbeth: An Unworthy King" takes the audience on an emotional roller-coaster as the ghosts left in the wake of Macbeth’s climb to the throne are given the opportunity to bring their stories to light.
To provide context to the traditional text, a band of young thespians guide the audience towards a full understanding of the details of the story, highlighting important moments and balancing the tragedy with humorous banter that will leave them in stitches.
Between sword fights, tragic deaths, special effects and prophecy, the audience begins to question the role the witches play in Macbeth’s journey as well as how excessive ambition can lead to tragedy.
