The Lipizzaner stallion has galloped boldly out of the pages of 400 years of European history into the hearts of millions of families across the world.

The world-famous Lipizzaner Stallions will be coming to the Sudbury arena Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are $25 for adults, children 12 and under and seniors $23. There are a limited number of Gold Circle Seats available for $30. Tickets are available at the arena box office. For more information call 671-3000 or go to the city's website.

Over the years, 25 million people throughout North and South America, Europe, Australia and Hawaii have seen this internationally acclaimed spectacle. Harking back to a time when the horse was a symbol of grace and majesty, the Lipizzaner stallions performance is an experience that can be enjoyed by all ages.

The 2008 tour marks the 38th anniversary of the Lipizzaner Stallions. All-new music, choreography and routines have been incorporated into the anniversary edition. There is a major emphasis on the historical background and foundation of the Lipizzaner breed, from its original breeding and use as a horse of war to a horse of nobility and aristocracy, to a living form of equestrian art.

Many of the horses and riders who appear were hand-picked by producer Gary Lashinsky. This veteran of show business has presented everything from Broadway shows - Yul Brenner in The King and I - to family fare such as the Ice Capades and the Harlem Globetrotters, along with concert tours featuring the likes of Elvis Presley, Led Zepplin and Olivia Newton-John.

After watching an equestrian performance by the prestigious Spanish Riding School of Vienna in the 60s, Lashinsky envisioned a new kind of attraction.

"I decided to create a riding show then, said Lashinsky. "A show that placed the tradition of the Spanish Riding School within a popular family entertainment context," he added.
