For the seventh time in 11 years, the Sudbury Theatre Centre is presenting Celebrities do Sudbury Satire.
"Celebrities do Sudbury Satire is a night where local celebrities take to the stage to raise funds in support of live professional theatre in Sudbury," states a release from the Sudbury Theatre Centre (STC).
The show is one-night only, on Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.
Sixteen short sketches will make up the show, where 45 "local celebrities" will poke fun at themselves and at Greater Sudbury.
Sketches include Extreme Recycling, NOSM Medical Mysteries, Summer Games Sex Screening, Parking Paranoia, Valley of Death Tours, Ticket-Gate, the Half-Full Monty, Meteo Plus Plus, Road Kill 2: Shania's Revenge, I Drive the Bus, and more.
City councillors Janet Gasparini, Ron Dupuis, and Frances Caldarelli, Greater Sudbury Police chief Frank Elsner, Sudbury Fire Services chief Marc Leduc, MPP France Gélinas, MP Glenn Thibeault, and Northern Life editor Wendy Bird are some of the many locals who "taje to the stage and bravely risk ruining their images," states the release.
