On Tuesday, April 21, St. Anne Catholic School in Hanmer will be hosting the Canadian Half Pints in a "Bullying's Not Kool" presentation.

view more images The Canadian Half-Pints, a basketball team made up of little people, have the unique opportunity, because they are small, to talk to children about the importance of not teasing, of being tolerant and charitable.

When they appear in schools, the students quickly discover they are talented, even though they are short. The message is everyone has talent to be discovered.

The Canadian Half-Pints have presented the "Bullying's Not Kool" to thousands of students in more than 6,000 schools in Canada.

They begin with a 30-minute presentation on the harmful effects of teasing and bullying, prejudice and intimidation. This is followed by a 20-minute half-court basketball game against the students of St. Anne Catholic School.

For more information, contact Cara Soehner, principal, St. Anne Catholic School 4500 St. Michel St. in Hanmer, at 969-2101.
