Remember when Metallica accidently sent a cease and desist letter to the Canadian Metallica tribute band, Sandman, back in January?

Turns out, Metallica wasn’t aware of the letter and blamed their “overzealous attorney” for the mix up.

Fast forward to Nov. 29, Metallica was in Toronto and rocked a sold-out show at The Opera House. Guess who they personally invited to hang out with them?

Sandman’s drummer, and Sudbury boy, Brent Niemi posted a photo of the tribute band and their rock idols on his Facebook page. He wrote:

"Sandman has been honouring the music of these gigantic icons for many many years.

"To finally meet face to face was something we won't forget."
