Motorcycle ride supports prostate cancer research

The Northern Cancer Research Foundation and the Blue Knights Ontario X, will be hosting the 9th annual Prostate Cancer Motorcycle Ride for Dad at the Regional Cancer Program, Saturday, June 20.

The Northern Cancer Research Foundation and the Blue Knights Ontario X, will be hosting the 9th annual Prostate Cancer Motorcycle Ride for Dad at the Regional Cancer Program, Saturday, June 20.

This event increases awareness and raises funds in support of prostate cancer research and patient care at the Regional Cancer Program.

The Motorcycle Ride for Dad is spearheaded by the Blue Knights Ontario X, who are a group of active and retired law enforcement officers. To date, $235,000 has been raised.

This event attracts several motorcycle groups, such as Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers, The Harley Owners, Freedom Riders, Sudbury Wings, Southern Cruisers and individual riders.

Riders are welcome to join the 120 km ride for a minimum $25 pledge. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Northern Cancer research foundation and the ride begins at 11 a.m.

The event will wrap up with a barbecue, an awards presentation and prizes. June 15 to 21 is Prostate Cancer Awareness Week. For more information phone 523-4673 or go to www.ncrfsudbury.com.
