David Savoy has been selected as the new artistic director for Sudbury Theatre Centre.
The current artistic director, George Pothitos, is leaving to become the artistic director at Neptune Theatre in Halifax.
Savoy was artistic director for the Showboat Festival Theatre in Port Colbourne for five years, and has recently completed his master of fine arts at the University of British Columbia. Before that, he spent three seasons at the Shaw Festival, and has taught at the University of Windsor, University of Toronto/Sheridan and Theatre Ontario.
"The new artistic director will enjoy the full support of both our board of directors and our experienced staff. We look forward to an exciting future with David," said Kathy Heimbecker, general manager of Sudbury Theatre Centre.
