The International Association of Administrative
Professionals (IAAP) is hosting an information night Thursday,
March 6 in The Marguerite Lougheed Community Centre located at
328 Albert Street, from 5 to 8 pm.
At the meeting, people can learn how to increase their skills
through networking, improve their professional image and gain
valuable information on business trends and technology.
This not-for-profit professional organization boasts a
membership of 40,000, with 700 chapters worldwide. The
IAAP works in partnership with employers to promote
excellence. Its members include administrative
assistants, executive secretaries, office co-ordinators,
information specialists, and related administrative
professionals. Many corporations, educational
institutions, students, and international organizations also
belong to IAAP.
The evening is being held with the assistance of Grand &
Toy, Avery, 3M, IAAP North Bay Chapter and IAAP Ontario
Division.
The program includes a 'meet and greet' registration at 5 pm, a
chicken dinner by Helvi's Catering ($20), a presentation called
'IAAP: What's In It For You' with Lina Veglia (Ontario Division
president), a discussion on a proposed Sudbury Nickel Chapter
building, and a Work-Life Balance presentation by Public Health
Nurse Marjorie Collie.
