With spring upon us and temperatures rising, it's time to clean
out your closet and update your look. Tracey Delwo and Gale
Prosperi are still working together at Carissa's (on Durham
Street downtown) to offer the top trends of the season.
Urban sportswear
This season's trends include urban sportwear, with a loose
relaxed fit. Fashion labels such as Sandwich and Eric Alexander
boast the season's most appealing cuts and colours.
Casual hip
Pair up some boyfriend jeans (introduced by Paige denim) with a
silky feminine top and you'll have the look of the season.
The Safari Look
Translucent fabrics and python satin are highlights in design
lines by Michael Kors and Franco Mirabelli. Sheer and printed
tops, as well as tunics, offer this exotic look.
Dressing up the dress
Bright color and floral print dresses dominate much of this
spring's fashion line-up. Delwo says Sweet Chemise dresses have
become popular since she added the new clothing line last fall.
Shiny accoutrements
Accessories are bright as well this season. Delwo says she has
added Christopher Kon to her Michael Kors collection of purses
and clutches.
Delwo has also recently renovated the Durham Street store and
has kept the personal and intimate atmosphere.
"If you are unable to visit the store during regular hours, I
would be pleased to arrange a time to suit your schedule," she
said.
"My staff and I have the fashion knowledge necessary to help
you discover your style."
Carissa's caters to women of all ages who are looking for
casual fun wear for the weekends, classic dresses, beautiful
office attire, quality paige denim and NYDJ, as well as stylish
coats, purses and all other accessories.
Carissa's will be celebrating Mother's Day on Saturday, May 9.
Free refreshments will be provided, and a gift will be given
with each purchase.
