The Sudbury Youth Orchestra, conducted by Jamie Arrowsmith,
will present its annual Christmas Concert at the Caruso Club
upper hall on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. The orchestra will be joined by
the Ida Sauve Dance Evolution at the dinner concert and silent
auction.
Tickets are $25 (students/seniors, $20) and are available at
Black Cat, the Cambrian College bookstore, from any orchestra
member or or by calling 566-8101 ext. 7407 or ext. 7766.
Founded in 1972, the orchestra is an award-winning non-profit
organization that "provides a calibre of orchestral playing
comparable to that found in any major Canadian city," says
Christopher Runions, media relations with the group. Members
range in age from 10 to their early 20s.
The orchestra is conducted by Jamie Arrowsmith, who holds
degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Kent State
University.
