Photographer Mark Zelinski launches his book “Heart of Turtle Island: The Niagara Escarpment” on the Chi-Cheemaun ferry July 22.

The images bring exquisite focus to the environmental treasures of the magnificent Niagara Escarpment UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, celebrating the diverse Indigenous and settler communities that thrive along its rugged, curving path, said a press release issued by the photographer.

The Niagara Escarpment, by the way, includes Manitoulin Island.

The Anishnabek Nations of Bruce Peninsula and Manitoulin Island are among the subjects included in the book.

Zelinski's book launch will include demonstrations by performers with the Wikwemikong Cultural Festival. Show times are at 4:10 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Saturday.
