Tom Davies Square underwent a holiday makeover this weekend for the city's first Downtown Sudbury Christmas Market.
The festivities kicked off Friday night with Mayor Brian Bigger lighting the courtyard's 30-ft holiday tree, followed by Christmas music, a light display, bonfires and access to food and drink vendors.
On Saturday, families were invited back to the courtyard for live carolling and horse-drawn carriage rides, as part of the Downtown Sudbury Art Crawl.
Admission was by donation, with proceeds benefiting the MS Society of Canada, Sudbury-Manitoulin Chapter.
The event attracted crowds of families, friends, puppies and Sudbury.com reporter Matt Durnan, to capture the Christmas cheer.
