Among the headliners for the 2014 edition of the River and Sky Music/Camping Festival, which runs July 18-20, are the Pink Mountaintops and Snowblink.
Pink Mountaintops, one of the Friday headliners, is described in the press release as “a Vancouver-based psychedelic-rock collective led by Stephen McBean.”
Also playing Friday night are Bry Web, lead singer of The Constantines, and the 10-piece The Silver Hearts.
Saturday’s main stage will have more of an indie rock feel with Montreal’s The Besnard Lakes, a two-time Polaris Prize nominee, and the alt-country rock of Cuff the Duke.
It’s back to the festival's roots Sunday with the antlered guitar and indie pop of Snowblink, which occasionally morphs into the band Hydra by joining forces with Feist, and Juno and Polaris Prize nominated Daniel Romano, whose storytelling lyrics and melodies hark back to country’s golden age.
The festival takes place between the towns of River Valley and Field in West Nipissing - along the banks of the Sturgeon River, about an hour away from Sudbury.
Weekend passes for the festival are currently on sale for $125 each. For more information, phone 705-662-8634 or visit www.riverandsky.ca.
