I discovered this recipe one day when I had leftover dough from making perogies. I hate to waste food, so I used some apples and created a perogy dessert. It was a real hit. My son named it:
Perogy Dough
4 cups flour
2 tbsp vegetable oil
¼ tsp baking powder
1 cup warm water
1 egg, beaten
5 tbsp sour cream
Filling
4 cups apples, chopped
1 cup water
1 tbsp cinnamon
½ cup brown sugar, packed
Combine filling ingredients in pot. Cook over medium heat
until apples are cooked and sauce thickens. Let cool.
Make perogy dough. Roll out onto floured surface and cut out
round pieces. Fill dough with filling. Fold dough and close
around filling. Deep fry in canola oil at a medium-high
temperature until brown. Serve immediately.
