Mayor John Rodriguez was joined by members of the Association canadienne-française de l’Ontario (ACFO) for the raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag at the Highway 69 welcome centre.

The flag is being flown at four welcome centres across the community in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ACFO.

The ACFO was established in 1910 with the aim of improving access to French-language education. Today, the organization works primarily towards achieving access to all services for the Francophone community.

The flags are to remain flying until the end of the year.
