June 21 is "Go Skateboarding Day," a time for young and old to celebrate the sport.
It is an opportunity for friends and families of skateboarders to show their support for the sport.
In honour of this day, Aila Galleri is hosting its second annual Go Skateboarding Day event on June 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Minnow Lake Skate Park. Activities include a skate demonstration by a local team, a s.k.a.t.e. contest for kids 12 and under and 13 plus, music and free giveaways.
The event is expected to attract more people than last year, where approximately 250 guests attended.
Similar events are being held worldwide for Go Skateboarding Day.
The even is sponsored by the City of Greater Sudbury, Pepsi, Hansen's Energy Drink, Chocolate Skateboards and Alphanumeric Clothing.
