Science North is closing for 12 days, from Monday, Jan. 8 through to Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 for scheduled maintenance.
The closure affects all of Science North's attractions and facilities, including the science centre, IMAX Theatre, Virtual Voyages Adventure Ride and Landings Restaurant. 
Science North's sales centre will remain open seven days a week from 9 am 9 pm throughout the closure for IMAX Festival package and ticket sales.
"Our visitors expect a high level of service and this closure will allow us to meet their expectations," said Science North director of business operations Brenda Tremblay in a news release.
"This closure will allow us to properly maintain all of our facilities and attractions."
Facility maintenance includes the servicing of ventilation, electrical and sewage systems, which will require water and power disruptions throughout the twelve-day period. The work has been planned for what is usually the slowest period of visitation at Science North, to minimize impact on visitors.
