The annual search for emerging Northern Ontario artists to
play at Northern Lights Festival Boréal (NLFB) will take place
April 4 and 5.
New groups, songwriters, spoken word artists or musicians who
are working on something exciting can apply for a paid gig at
the festival, which will be held July 4, to 6. Visit the

Auditions for bands and large ensembles will be held April 4 at
the Townehouse Tavern on Elgin Street from 8 pm to 11:30 pm.
Performers of any age can take part in the auditions, but
members of the audience must be of legal drinking age.
Admission for the night is $5. The Cloggs, a three-piece blues
band from Ottawa, will perform after the auditions, stated a
news release.
Auditions for acoustic groups, singer/songwriters and spoken
word artists will take place  April 5 at the new festival
office, located at 19 Grey St., Suite 3 (behind the
Townehouse). Auditions will take place from 6 pm to 10 pm. A
voluntary donation of $5 is the suggested admission.
NLFB staff and board members will welcome friends of the
festival and members of the media at an  Open House on
April 5 beginning at 5 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity
to learn about this year's festival, find out about volunteer
opportunities and see the new office, nestled in Sudbury's arts
district, stated the news release.
NLFB is proud to present the finest in music and art each
summer at Bell Park. The festival has a reputation for offering
interesting music including traditional, modern, Francophone,
aboriginal, world-beat, bluegrass, alt-country, jazz, blues.
folk, reggae, ska and  more.
