(CNW) On Sunday, Mar. 2, TVO focuses on eating disorders
with a two-part on-air and online event. At 9 pm Lauren
Greenfield's powerful, feature-length documentary, Thin, is
a sobering and hard-hitting look inside a rehabilitation centre
for women coping with anorexia and bulimia. Immediately
following the film at 10:45 pm TVOparents.com's LIVE
interactive parenting show, Your Voice with host Cheryl
Jackson, will welcome a panel of experts to discuss the
pressures on young children, particularly girls, to be thin.
It's an evening, one of the many on TVO's March 2008
schedule that will inform, inspire and provoke thought.
    
On Sunday, Mar. 16, TVO presents two documentaries on the
subject of genius. At 8 pm, A Boy Called Alex follows
17-year-old musical prodigy Alex Stobbs as he battles with
cystic fibrosis while he prepares to conduct Bach's great
choral piece, the Magnificat. At 9 pm, Child Genius follows the
lives of some of Britain's most gifted children and asks
the question: Is genius made or born?
Beginning Thursday, Mar. 13 at 9 pm the four-part drama No
Tears starring Brenda Fricker tells the story of a group of
Irish women infected with hepatitis C from contaminated blood
products and their fight for justice.
    
On Masterworks on Thursday, Mar. 6, at 10 pm the efforts of
artists Christo and Jean-Claude to mount their ambitious and
controversial art installation in New York's Central Park
are chronicled in The Gates. On Thursday Mar. 20, at 10 pm
Masterworks features the revealing biography Tasmanian Devil:
The Fast and Furious Life of Errol Flynn.
And beginning Friday, Mar. 21, at 7 pm comedienne Victoria Wood shares her views on British imperialism as she visits places around the world named Victoria in the three-part series Victoria's Empire.
