Myths and Mirrors Community Arts presents the event starting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 15. CAMPfire is an arts showcase, featuring music and poetry by youth Sudbury artists.

The event, which is free, includes spoken word performances and music by acoustic alternative rock band Kick the Clouds. Local beatboxer and finalist at the Beatbox Battle World Championship, Emilie Carrey (AKA Sparx), also joins the line-up, along with other guests.

“We know it’s really important for young people to have a safe space to talk, explore, and be creative,” said Cora-Rae Silk, Myths and Mirrors’ assistant art director.

“So over the summer, our summer staff hosted a series of art and poetry circles for young artists in the community to come and share their work. This event is really a celebration of that process and the work that’s been created this summer, but it also gives these talented young people an opportunity to present their art and share their voice with the larger community.”

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
