Registration is now open for Sudbury Theatre Centre's 2019-2020 educational programming through its STC Academy.

Saturday drama and voice classes begin Saturday, Sept. 7. The nine-week term ends with an informal recital for invited family and friends on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Classes are available for the following age groups:

  • Playtime Theatre: ages 5 to 7 – 9-10 a.m.
  • Discovery Drama: ages 8 to 10 – 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
  • Vocal Discovery: age 8 to 10 - 12 to 1:30 p.m.
  • Vocal Development: age 11+ - 10:15 to 11:45 a.m.

STC Academy classes are led by skilled instructors with extensive teaching backgrounds, said a press release. Students are exposed to a wide range of games, exercises and experiences that are tailored to any skill level.

These education programs contribute to each student's emotional, intellectual and social development. Participation also helps to develop their self-confidence and problem-solving skills and foster creative and critical thinking.

Parents may also register their children for the winter term (Jan. 4 to March 7, 2020) or spring term (March 28 to June 6, 2020).

Registration discounts apply when booking more than one class or registering multiple children in the same family.
