Last month at l'École secondaire catholique l'Horizon, more than 300 students from the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel Ontario got their "fifteen minutes of fame" as the board hosted its fifth annual lip sync competition.  "Gala Franco-synchro" showcases students, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade Eight, who lip sync to choreographed numbers by their favourite francophone artists.

Contrary to previous years, the gala had a non-competitive theme choosing rather to provide students with the opportunity to shine on the "big stage" having qualified in local and regional school competitions.

Students and parents alike enjoyed the new look of the event complete with round tables, candles and even a red carpet featuring all the students personalized stars.

Events such as these are organized to enhance francophone pride and character development as students demonstrate leadership and commitment to their cultural identity.
