Lasalle Secondary School invites the community to come out and support this year's Relay for Life.

The Lasalle Secondary School Students' Council will officially kick off their third Relay for Life on Friday, May 9. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and end early Saturday morning. Participants can register starting at 6 p.m.

Students will walk, jog and even dance around the track in memory of those who have lost their battle to cancer, to support those who are still fighting cancer, and to honour those who have beaten the battle and survived.

The relay will raise money for cancer research and raise awareness about cancer. The event is also a great way for high school students to get involved in a worthy cause and have a lot of fun. Guests from the Canadian Cancer Society will speak at the relay.

In 2007, Lasalle students achieved their goal of raising $12,500. This year's goal is $15,000. As an incentive, a female staff member and female Grade 12 student have agreed to shave their heads if this year's goal is reached.
